Cathcart’s Connie Vail Recognized as 2024 Women in Rail Honoree

COLUMBUS, OHIO – October 17, 2024 – Cathcart Rail’s own Connie Vail was announced as a 2024 Women in Rail honoree this month.  Vail, who has been with Cathcart since February, 2020, serves as Vice President of Rail Operations and leads our three shortline railroads and contract switching and transloading sites.

This is the eighth year for the award, which recognizes women in the rail industry who demonstrate leadership, vision, innovation and community service.

Prior to joining Cathcart, Vail was active in the industry at both short line and Class 1 railroads where she has served as a conductor, trainmaster, engineer and safety manager.  In her current role, she leads a team of 70 employees across multiple states.
