COLUMBUS, OHIO – October 14, 2022
Cathcart Rail (Cathcart) received the Association of Corporate Growth (ACG) Columbus 2022 Deal of the Year Award for its acquisition of The Andersons railcar repair business and concurrent debt and equity recapitalizations. Combined with its prior acquisitions and growth, Cathcart has built one of the largest railcar services and transportation networks in the industry, employing nearly 1,000 personnel nationwide.
“We are honored to receive such a prestigious award” said Casey Cathcart, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Cathcart Rail. “This award reflects the dedication and effort our employees put forth leading up to and through the acquisition and integration.”
The award recognizes companies and service providers involved in mergers, acquisitions, and corporate finance transactions during 2021 and the first half of 2022. Primary considerations included interesting or unique aspects of the transaction, the impact of the transaction on Ohio, and the impact of the transaction on the industry, and deals were evaluated on the complexity, challenges, and benefits of the transaction, as well as any unique attributes. Organizations and individuals in middle-market businesses with $10 million to $1 billion of revenue and headquartered or doing business in Central Ohio were eligible for nomination. Cathcart was nominated by its lead syndicate bank, Bank of America, N.A., and legal advisor, Milbank LLP.
